Sometimes a single step can change how close we feel to ourselves and to nature. In this article, I share not only my thoughts on mindful walking but also my favorite Vivobarefoot models for forest, sea, and everyday life.
“We often forget that we are nature. Nature is not something separate from us. So when we say that we have lost our connection to nature, we have lost our connection to ourselves.”

☉ WE ARE NATURE. NATURE IS US. ☉
In our modern world, we’ve convinced ourselves we’re separate from nature.
But the truth is, we’re an integral part of it.
In the noise of our lives, it’s easy to forget that we are nature.
That our bodies are landscapes.
That our breath, our rhythms, our emotions—they belong to the natural world just as much as trees, tides, and thunder.
Reconnecting with the natural world means reconnecting with ourselves.
Steps that Ground
Let’s go outside.
Let’s welcome back the wild.
Let nature free us.
Let’s reclaim the raw.
Let’s become a force of nature.
Let’s get down and dirty.
Let’s connect with the natural world and let it heal us!
When I can’t go barefoot, I rely on Vivobarefoot shoes.

More Than Just Shoes – A Mindset
Vivobarefoot stands for exactly these ideas – and that’s why I love the brand.
Just as I believe in slow, mindful steps in the forest, I also believe in shoes that respect the natural flow of the body. These shoes are more than just footwear. They embody a mindset: connection instead of separation.
Shoes like Vivobarefoot don’t just benefit your feet – they support your whole system. They encourage natural movement, an upright posture, and real contact with the ground. No unnecessary cushioning, no artificial distance from the earth. Just you and the ground.

My Paths with Vivobarefoot
I wear mine for everything:
🜂 in the forest,
🜁 by the sea,
🜃 while holding space with groups outdoors,
🜄 or simply walking my dog through Berlin’s neighbourhoods.
Every surface tells a different story: forest floor, gravel, sand, damp meadows, cobblestones – walking on them is my practice of mindfulness.
For these different paths, I have my personal favorites:
Magna Forest ESC – sturdy for challenging forest and mountain walks
Tracker Leather AT Low – perfect for wet and uneven terrain
Magna Lite WR SG – lightweight and water-resistant, ideal for changing weather
Tracker Decon FG2 JJF – flexible and versatile for long city or nature walks
Back to the Source
For me, barefoot shoes are not a trend. They are a tool to move more consciously, slow down, and feel the connection to the earth.
The way we move reveals something about our inner selves.
Our inner nature – made visible.
